A fresh and thick looking sport in Desford pitch awaited Desford and sileby on a warm September Saturday afternoon.
As with all games in the Leicestershire senior league this season, tough opposition awaited in the form of sileby town
The game started a little scrappy with both teams trying to figure each other out .
Midway through the first half and the midfield of Higgins , Culverwell and Mcleary began to link and open the pitch to utilise the ever threatening Mcgarry and York.
Eventually the deadlock was broken through a patient and much deserve goal for Parnell.
As sileby aimed to respond the strong and aware back 3 of Beaumont , brown and Jones kept the game seeming comfortable.
HT 1-0
First ten minutes of the second half favoured sileby as they tried to pour pressure on to Desford
The pressure was however deflated as Louis rood slotted a slick Desford move into the back of the net. This was then followed by a text book Connor Mcgahan 1 on 1 to make it 3-0. At this point Desford looked like flying away with it as the sileby keeper made 2 superb saves to keep it at 3-0
Into the last ten minutes and respectfully out of nowhere silently stormed to steal 2 goals to make it the proverbial squeaky bum time.
Desford he’s on for a deserved 3 points.
All the best to sileby and we will see you later in the season.
Up the Dezzy
